A pip is the smallest movement in a currency quote and for most major currencies is displayed as 0.0001, except for the Japanese Yen (JPY) where a pip represents 0.01.   Most currencies are traded in lot sizes of 100,000 units of the base currency, where one pip is equal to 10 units of the quoted currency.

In fact, in transactions in the Forex market, it is important to predict profit or loss not only in points (pips), but to be able to translate these items into cash equivalent.
